As reported by the Columbia University Spectator and many others, the school announced that it had received the largest donation in its history - a $200 million gift to build a research center devoted to the study of the brain. The new neuroscience facility will be named the Jerome L. Greene Science Center, and house the University’s Mind, Brain and Behavior Initiative. The gift is from Dawn Greene and the Jerome Greene Foundation.

Research at the center will be led by neurobiologist Thomas Jessell and Nobel laureates Richard Axel and Eric Kandel.
